A Busy April

Spring has finally arrived!!! We are all so grateful to see the grass getting greener and the playground getting drier. It has been a long winter and now we are ready to enjoy the fun of April.

This year, as in the past 9 years, we are running a “Trike –a- Thon” for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Every year we have the children participate in this project and they feel good about helping others.

Each family should have gotten a sponsor sheet. You may choose to participate or not.  Every child in our Pre-K and Preschool class will get a chance to ride our trikes around our track. We will keep a count  of how many times they go around (limiting them to 10). All of the information is on the sponsor sheet. You do not have to send in a tricycle. We will supply the trikes and the track. (Thank you Morgan Prudenti for sharing your trikesJ)

All pledge sheets and donations are due by April 15th. Thank you in advance for your help.

April Vacation

As you know, Liberty Learning Center follows the Great Meadows School Calendar. Because they have a spring vacation the week of April 6 – April13th, we will NOT be having Pre-K or Preschool Classes on those days. Our center will be open for Child Care ONLY for those days and closed on Friday, April 10th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hourihan. There will be a sign up for full time childcare and for our before and after school students at the front desk.

Warren Haven Nursing Home

On Thursday, April 2, we will be going to Warren Haven for our annual Egg Hunt. Each year our school is invited to meet with the “grandmas and grandpas” at Warren Haven. They set up a wonderfully, generous egg hunt and all classes are invited to attend. We will bus childcare students and we ask that all other children come with their parents. The hunt starts at 10:00 and lasts for about an hour. Please have your child bring some kind of basket to collect eggs in. It will be a fun morning for all. There will be no classes on that day.

Pre-K News:

Our children are working hard and doing SO well.  Please encourage letter recognition and numbers too. Our “Easy Readers” will be going home on Tuesday nights. Please read with your childJ

Preschool News:

Miss Jenna is doing a wonderful job as our new Preschool Teacher. She’s making the transition for our children very, very easy. She will not be doing show and tell at this time, but will continue to work on letters, numbers and name recognition. If you have any questions, feel free to chat with her.
