February Fun……

             This month is filled with sweet fun. We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day; SWEETS and RED are the themes. Please look for sign up sheets on the front board. Kindly remember peanut free snacks only. All classes will be making bags to collect Valentine cards. Please sign your child’s name on the cards but do not address them. The teachers will distribute all of the cards into the bags.  There are 30 children in each class!

President’s Day

             Since we follow the Great Meadow’s school calendar, there will be no  Pre-K-Preschool classes on Friday, February 17 or Monday, February 20th. Liberty Learning Center will be open for……………… CHILD CARE ONLY!!!

Please be sure to sign up at the desk if your child is coming.

Pre-K News:

            Our Pre-K students are working very hard and conferences went well. Please start working with your child on recognition of letters and numbers. We will be working on Birthdays, Addresses and especially Telephone numbers. Please review them at home. Mrs. Hourihan will be sending home some ‘homework’ every Tuesday. Please have your child return it on Wednesday.

Preschool News:

            Our Preschoolers are doing very well and Miss Jenna is proud of their progress. The class is working on listening skills and they are doing a letter a week with wonderful projects! Good job.

            If your child sleeps PLEASE remember to bring in a sheet and cover. The bedding should go home every Friday and come back on Monday.

Before and After School

            Please let us know if you are satisfied with the children’s homework that is being done after school. If your child is not doing his/her homework and you would like us to insist they do, please let Mrs. Hourihan or Mrs. Strathern know.

Registration and Re-Registration

            In February we will begin registration for our 2012 fall and summer programs.

            We have an open house for new families on Saturday, February 4th from 10–12:00. Please spread the word J

            We always give our current students the first chance to register. Re-registration is due by March 30th. Every student must register for the summer program if attending. We will not assume that your child is continuing if we do not have a re-registration packet for him/her. Please let us know if you have any questions.

REMINDERS:

Please call the school if your child is going to be out for the day. We really need to know if your child will not be attending. Also, please do not send your child in if he/she has a fever or an upset stomach. We really are working on NOT sharing germs and there are plenty around!! 

Parents of children attending Kindergarten in the fall should contact the office of the school where your child will be going as soon as possible! Please mention if your child will be attending the LLC - Before and After program in the fall.

          * We will be going outside when the weather is warm enough. If you would NOT like your child to go outside please let us know. Also, please send in hats, gloves and a warm coat with their names clearly on each item.

          ** We follow the Great Meadows school calendar. If they are closed for snow, we will do our best to be open for Childcare Only (no classes). Please call the main number, after 6:00 am for school closing information. You can also look on the web at Operation Snowflake or listen to WRNJ.

Please check the calendar frequently!!
