A Happy and Healthy 2007

Welcome back to a brand new year at Liberty Learning Center!  We hope you enjoyed your holidays and the extra time with your children.

Thank you for all of your wonderful gifts and well wishes. You were very kind to me and to all of our teachers; your thoughtfulness means so much. My house was well decorated and each of your children will live in my Christmases as the years go on. Thank you.

2007 brings new challenges for your children. In class we will be getting down to “serious” learning (don’t fret; we will have some fun too!).

PRE-Kindergarten Conferences:

Mrs. Hourihan will have parent conferences will any parent of a child going to Kindergarten September 2007. Please look for sign-up sheets by the front door next week. These conferences are just for the Pre-k classes.

Pre-K  will work hard on preparation for Kindergarten. Please look at some of your child’s work so that you can see if he/she needs help on writing skills. Now is the time to gently suggest more writing and drawing and cutting practice. Use any time you can to review letters, numbers, colors, direction.

PRESCHOOL

Our Preschool is ready for some more directed work. We will be tying in fun and letters and numbers along with developing better listening skills. We need to work on large muscle skills and patterns with our 3 year olds too. As always, manners are a focus we would like to work on both at home and at school.

REMINDERS

If your child sleeps in the afternoon he/she must have a sheet to sleep on. Please check with the afternoon teachers and they will let you know what you need.

If your child is staying for pizza and extra hours please pay in cash for the pizza. Mrs. Hourihan does have to pay for the pizza that day and does not have time to get cash for your check.

It is very important that you sign your child in and out every day.

With this strange warm weather we have been having, many children are coming in with colds. We will do our best to keep the germs from spreading by using more hot water and soap, Lysol and bleach. We know you will not send your child in if he/she is really sick. Together we can  work toward a healthy year.

January is a five week month. For all students in childcare we go by the Mondays in a month. Questions, call Peter 689-5722.

Please keep the calendar on back handy!!
