A Happy and Healthy

2008

Happy New Year to each and every one of you. We hope your enjoyed the holidays and spent some “quiet” time together with family and friends.

Thank you for all of your wonderful gifts and well wishes. You were very kind to me and to all of our teachers; your thoughtfulness means so much!! We especially love the cards and pictures of your children! The pictures will stay up all year.

The New Year always brings new hope and challenges for us. We hope to entice your children to do their best and then challenge them to do even better. We want your children to feel comfortable and confident and that is what we will work on daily. We also hope that we can work even closer with you, our parents, to develop an even stronger foundation for your children to build on. Together, our Liberty Learning Center family will succeed!!

PRE-Kindergarten Conferences:

Mrs. Hourihan will have parent conferences will any parent of a child going to Kindergarten September 2008. Please look for sign-up sheets by the front door soon. These conferences are just for the Pre-k classes. If you have any questions or need some other time for a conference, please let Mrs. Hourihan know.

Pre-K will work hard on preparation for Kindergarten. Now is the time to gently suggest more writing and drawing and cutting practice. Use any time you can to review letters, numbers, colors, direction.

PRESCHOOL

Our Preschool is ready for some more directed work. We will be tying in fun and letters and numbers along with developing

better listening skills. We need to work on large muscle skills and patterns with our 3 year olds too. As always, manners are a focus we would like to work on both at home and at school.

If you would like to set up a time to speak with Miss Jamie about your child, please let her know. There will not be any formal conferences for Preschool parents at this time.

REMINDERS

*We are experiencing problems at the 12:00 pick-up every day. When parents park at the end of the driveway, it is very difficult to see up and down Rt. 46 when others are trying to pull out. Also, the Kindergarten bus needs to drop off children at that time. Please do not park at the end of the drive way, especially at the 12:00 pick up or at 3:30 when the bus is trying to pull in/out.  Also, remember not to block the driveway leading to the back of the school. Some of our teachers need to get out to take their lunch break and shouldn’t be blocked in.

*When sending in milk and or cheese products for lunch, please include a cold pack. The teachers are finding the milk and cheese to be warm and unappealing to your children. Also, if you have questions regarding your child’s eating habits, please ask. If your child’s lunch is coming home uneaten, maybe you should try another kind of lunch. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you are concerned.

*FYI: January is a five week month. Questions, call Peter 689-5722.
